1) What We See Is Not Always What We Get.

Just because we see a PR7 doesnt’t mean that the webpage has a true value of PR7 at that point of time. The truth is that Google only update the Google Toolbar once every 3 months and Google always update the PR frequently and is reflected in the Search Engine Result Page. (SERP) when all the searches are made. Hence, we will never know the true PR of the webpage at that point in time.

2. Page Rank is not the same throughout.

Page Rank only applies to a certain page and not throughout the whole domain name. It is not uncommon to see that a internal page has a higher PR then the homepage. The reason is just that there are more people linking to that internal page.

3.  Page Rank can be Fake.

There are of course website that uses fake PR techniques to display their page PR to 10. This is not recommended and the PR will only be temporary.

4. What is the most accurate prediction tool for Page Rank?

well, the answer is none. Google keeps updating their algorithm and no external tools can calculate their PR without knowing the maths. In addition, seeing the predicted PR is discouraging most of the time.You might as well use this time to create more link baits and link revelance to your webpage.

5. No traffic But High Page Rank

Most people sees pagerank as the only factor for page rankings. This is not true, Google uses other factors as well to calculate the rankings, pagerank is one of them. The most important factor is content relevancy. Google would not want to show people a high PR site with low relevancy. It is common to have a PR 5 page with no search engine traffic.

6. Get Rich with High Page Rank.

Most Webmasters profit from selling their high PR text links for a good sum of money. A PR 7 site can earn a few hundred dollars per month just by selling text links.

Never in my life have I made so many friends who are like-minded and who share similar interest which is Internet Marketing. In the beginning i thought Internet Marketing was an alien word to most Singaporean and i seriously thought i was the pioneer Singaporean batch in Internet Marketing because all my friends around me did not know what was Internet Marketing or realise that it was even possible to earn real money online. But i proved myself wrong when i began blogging and saw that there were actually so many people in Singapore that were into Internet Marketing. Realised i was like a frog in the well. So naive of me at that point of time.

     3.    I blog because I get excited when new faces or comment appear in my blog.

I always get very excited when i log into my dashboard and I see 1 comments in moderation. It nevers fails to excite me and therefore i’m always blogging and looking out for new information to share with my readers and try to start a discussion in my blog. So readers, do leave me a comment often so that i will get excited each time and this definitely will be a motivation for me to continue blogging and eventually falling in love with it.

     4.    I blog because of Alexa Ranking.

The last reason why i blog is because of the Alexa ranking. Alexa ranking is actually a ranking of the popularity of your website with every website that has the  Alexa toolbar installed on the computer.  I see the alexa ranking as a challenge to myself to want to constantly improve the ranking and thus constantly trying to generating traffic to my blog and to find new informations to share with my readers.

    5.     I blog because I want the world to know there is this peron out there call Ivan Ong.

Blogging is indeed the easiest and the fastest way to let people know you. That’s actually how I made a few IM friends through blogging also. Although till now not the whole world know who Ivan Ong is. At least if you go to Google and search for Ivan Ong,  I am ranked the No 1 or 2 out of all the Ivan Ong who has a website. haha…

” If you fail to plan then you plan to fail.” I believe this sentence should be very familiar to many of us and we all know the importance of planning in order to work towards your goal. I admit that i am guilty of this accuscation and i pled guilty to this sentence. My punishment? The slow progress that i have in terms of my internet marketing business. I will be coming up with my Ultimate Success Plan soon and i will share it online with you and wait to see my progress.

2) Lack of Discipline

” Oh man, i hate to wake up so early in the morning ” are the most common words among all my friends and peers and i strongly believe, this is due to the lack of discipline to tell yourself to wake up in the monring and start doing what you plan to do!
According to Brian Tracy, he said that an average person takes around 21 days to mould a simple habits such as planning to wake up early in the monrning to exercise or setting a time to go to bed every night. So, discipline yourself in the field that you want to change for 21 days and make no exceptions to it and you’ll be well on your way to cultivating a positive habits that will stick with you for life!

3) Limiting Beliefs

” I cant do this! This is impossbile for anyone to achieve it!” Does this sentence ring a bell in your mind that this though often appear in your mind? We are often limited to what we can do or achieve when we actually do not believe that we can do it. Therefore, we often do not achieve what we set to do because we do not believe that we can do it. Not because it’s really impossbile to do it!

In marketing basically you need to convince people that your product or services is good and customers will most likely to buy.

When the Internet came around, I feel there are now more business people online then before. One great example is EBay! There are thousands of people selling and buying online. Some even make $4 to $10k a month just by selling stuff there!  People are setting up blogs to post about themselves to gain popularity and in turn some do make a huge profit out of it.

Overall for Internet related businesses, content and traffic are the most important aspect of online business. However, not many will be successful. Only a few who are willing to take action and focus on the objective will succeed.

The journey to success is always not far and it’s always there but just that many people just give up before they even succeed anything. It’s sad but true! =P

To most people, mere dreaming and setting of new year’s resolution
are their idea of goal setting. This just simply does not work.
Many people for example, make a new year’s resolution to ‘lose
weight’. When do they check in on the goal? The following year! And
sure enough, it was not achieved. So what do they do? They set
another new year’s resolution and the unsuccessful cycle continues.

To set goals that drive you and give you focus, you must make your
goals very specific. Unless you know specifically what it is you
want, you cannot develop an effective strategy to reach it.
Successful people know exactly what they want in life and if you
want to be successful, you must do the same.

Specific goals give you the focus needed to take action. When you
know exactly what your goal is, you will know exactly what action
is required to get there. So set specific goals for yourself and
you will find them manifesting soon enough.

Don’t be afraid to show your personality when you blog. In fact, a blog is the best place to show the best bits of yourself – share as much as you can about how you feel and why you say the things you do. Don’t be afraid to use humour or honesty. Your readers will love you for being frank. Having said that, do set some personal rules as a blogger. My personal mantra is that I don’t cuss or have four-letter words in my blog.

4. Encourage feedback

Your blog exists because you want to start ‘conversations’ with your readers. You have an opinion to share and you want others to share theirs too. Some bloggers prevent their readers from leaving comments by turning off the Comments feature on their blog. I say enable your readers to provide you feedback but moderate comments – remove those which are rude. If you worry about spamming, plug in extra security by getting readers to register before they can leave comments and get the comments sent to you for approval prior to being posted to your blog.

5. Use photos to sell

Photographs always capture attention and convey emotions. They also help break the monotony of large sections of text. Remember to re-size them before you upload them to your blog. This keeps photograph sizes standard and consistent. I use photos which are re-sized to 400 pixels wide by 300 pixels tall. Don’t have gorgeous photos? Get them free from free stock photo sites such as freefoto.com or sxc.hu

6. Include links to other blogs

Include links to other blogs or websites. The mistake most people make is that they don’t want to link out because they’re worried their readers will leave. Don’t worry about them leaving - focus on writing quality engaging content. Your mission is to get them hooked enough that they will bookmark your blog and return often!

7. Use proper grammar and spellcheck

I can’t stress enough the importance of using proper grammatical language when blogging. You don’t have to be an expert in a language to use it well. Just remember that what you blog should be easy to understand without spelling or grammatical errors.

8. Ensure readability

When you blog, keep in mind that you need to ensure that your readers will be able to read easily. Follow newspaper conventions: use subheads to break up long paragraphs, keep one idea to one paragraph and use bulleted lists if the information is too unwieldy. Don’t torture your readers by having white text on a dark or black background. It hurts the eyes! Black text on white or light background always works best.

9. Be personal

The easiest way is to constantly use ‘you’ and ‘I’ liberally throughout your blog. This keeps it casual, friendly and easygoing. You definitely don’t want to blog in the third person because that would defeat the purpose of your blogging. Imagine you are having a conversation with your best friend. Use this mental image when you are blogging and you’ll never be stuck for ideas or words!
