We all know that PPC marketers tend to create mini sites that contains only the few ‘required’ pages and then throw up a campaign and start buying clicks to get traffic.. This strategy work perfectly well and it has worked darn well for me too. However, this kind of strategy are short sighted strategy but the campaign usually will not last due to several reasons.

2. Competitors come researching for your niche, saw your landing pages, stalked you for a while and finally realize you have been around for at least 2 weeks. What they do simply is to go to firefox, click on the save page as button, change the links to their affiliate links and in just 5mins, they have created a total 100% duplicate of your site. They throw up a adwords campaign bidding on your keywords using keywordspy or ppcbully2.0, bid slightly higher then you and you are as good as dead.
3. Building a few pages mini site will not get your website indexed or rank well in search engine. Thus you do not get any free traffic at all from the search engine and 100% of your traffic comes from Adwords. The moment Adwords decides to kick you out… You are dead.

Therefore, in order to build a long term business in Affiliate Marketing, the ONLY way is to build a full blown authority site and what advantage does a authority sites gives you and how does it make it long term?

1. If you site has got 100s of pages of unique content and providing true value to your visitors, chances are Google Adwords is less lightly to say NO to your money and since Google ultimate aim is to give the users the best experience, you are more likely to stay in the long run.

All these content will help in your quality score and this is something that your competitors will never get from you. Same keywords, same adcopy and same landing page. 3. Google loves content and so will the search results. Your site will more likely to be indexed when you do SEO on your site and you get 100% FREE traffic. Organic listing are also more stable in terms of traffic and its tougher for your competitors to take over your position when you do your SEO properly.
