The Best Tracking Tool – Google Conversion Tracking Tool
You probably have heard of tools like xconversion and tracking202 which are all tracking tools to help you track which keywords are profitable and which isn’t. However they are still external tracking tool and the data might not be captured so accurately and its troublesome having to refer to your Google Adwords account and your tracking software interface all the time.
The best tracking tool in my opinion, is definitely the Google conversion Tracking tool… this tool is integrated seamlessly into your google adwords account and it makes tracking so dead simple…
You can see exactly which keyword made the sale/lead for you and also what is the conversion rate for the keywords. What is cool about the tracking tool is that it will also tell you what is your cost per conversion, meaning how much you have to spend to acquire a lead or a sale. If the cost per conversion is lower then the payout that you are getting, then you are profitable!
I will tell you how to set up Google conversion tracking before i move on to a even bigger benefit of Google conversion tracking tool.
Here’s how you set it up… In your Google adwords account, there is a tab which says Conversion tracking under the campaign management tab.

Next just fill in the name of the tracking and the things that you are tracking, either leads or sale and input in the amount of payout that you will receive. Click on save and generate code and you will see a length of code that you will need to input into the merchant thank you page for the conversion to be tracked. This would take some trouble as you will need to email your Affiliate manager and request them to put your code on the merchant thank you page.
Once its up, the conversion tracking will be up and going…
The reason why i say this tool is the best because you can now optimize your campaigns according to the cost/conversion.. You can actually use this in your Google Adwords Editor where you can adjust your bids according to your cost per conversion.

For example, if you are getting a $5.50 payout for a valid lead, you definitely want to find out which keywords are losing money, meaning you are spending more then $5.50 to get a valid lead. Thus, in my adwords editor, i would use the advance search function and search for keywords whereby the cost/conversion is more then $5.50 and i could INSTANTLY find out which keywords are losing money… Depending on situation, i would either delete away the keyword, or i would lower the bid of the keywords and test the keywords again… These keywords then go into my watch list and i will monitor their progress carefully.
On the other hand, for profitable keywords, you could either increase the bids if you are getting good ROI with it to get more clicks and more profits, or you can leave the keywords alone and let it rake in profits after profits for you.
There you have it… the best conversion tracking tool and the way i use it…
