The Cons Of Free Traffic
I have been working a lot on generating free traffic lately and i’m glad that things are shaping up and i’m getting more than 1000 uniques to my website(s) on a daily basis now and i”ll continue to hit it hard to go to 2000 uniques a day..
After working on my SEO project for some time, i realize there’s some bad points to free traffic… You always hear people talk about all the good things of free traffic and how you are able to sleep peacefully at night.. But here’s some cons that i have experience myself from getting free traffic
- No credit card rewards points – my credit card expenses have dropped quite a fair bit as i am focusing more on free traffic now.. Therefore, i am getting much lesser rewards points which i used to exchange it for a lot of freebies and my mom often used those points to exchange for grocery vouchers which could cover our family grocery expenses in a month.. Spending lesser also means having more difficulties in getting your credit card annual fees waived..
- Free Traffic Takes Time To Build – SEO and free traffic can take a long time to build… I have been working for almost 3 months now on generating free traffic.. In terms of scalability, free traffic can take a much longer time then paid traffic.
- The objective is different from paid traffic – In free traffic, it does not matter if you do not get the most targeted traffic to your website. In free traffic, you just have to get as much traffic as possible since they are free and you do not have to paid a dime for the traffic.. This sometimes can hurt your conversion badly and might screw your conversion sales process. For example, an offer might be a excellent offer if targeted to the right market. However, your testing with free traffic shows that your offer is only conversion at a below average rate and you’ll forgo the offer and losing an opportunity to find a golden nugget…
I will touch more on the pros and cons of free traffic in my later post… that’s all for now…

Mind to share what kind of keyword tool you use?
I personally use WordTracker to build keyword-optimized pages on my site, but I’m open for better suggestions…
Hi Ivan,
Is your earnings from SEO traffic anywhere near your Paid Traffic’s earnings?
Do you think it has the potential to surpass it?
I think there is a potential that my seo traffic might just surpass my paid traffic…
But in terms of scalability, paid traffic is able to scale up much much faster then free traffic…
I’m aiming for 2000 unique visitors a day to my site… let’s see how long i’ll take to reach that level…
ivan, can you share how you did to push up to 1000 unique visitors per day in short time, e.g. paid links, press release, and article writing? which do you think the most important factor?
Hello mate
Usually, if you leave comments on others blogs that are related or relevant to yours, you stand a higher chance of driving more traffic to your website. So I add you on my site. Thank for nice information you gave
