Thanks Calvin for tagging me and so here are the reasons why i blog.
I blog because I……
    1.    I blog because I am into Internet Marketing.
This is seriously the main reason that made me start a blog. I suppose the first step to Internet Marketing is actually to start a blog to tell the world that “Hey! Look here! I am also in Internet Marketing”
I suppose this few months down the road i certainly have made progress to my blog and also the content of my blog. You can take a look at my first blog at http://thegame0506.blogspot.com ( please don’t laugh at me)
    2.   I blog because I can make like-minded friends.
Never in my life have I made so many friends who are like-minded and who share similar interest which is Internet Marketing. In the beginning i thought Internet Marketing was an alien word to most Singaporean and i seriously thought i was the pioneer Singaporean batch in Internet Marketing because all my friends around me did not know what was Internet Marketing or realise that it was even possible to earn real money online. But i proved myself wrong when i began blogging and saw that there were actually so many people in Singapore that were into Internet Marketing. Realised i was like a frog in the well. So naive of me at that point of time.
    3.    I blog because I get excited when new faces or comment appear in my blog.
I always get very excited when i log into my dashboard and I see 1 comments in moderation. It nevers fails to excite me and therefore i’m always blogging and looking out for new information to share with my readers and try to start a discussion in my blog. So readers, do leave me a comment often so that i will get excited each time and this definitely will be a motivation for me to continue blogging and eventually falling in love with it.
    4.   I blog because of Alexa Ranking.
The last reason why i blog is because of the Alexa ranking. Alexa ranking is actually a ranking of the popularity of your website with every website that has the Alexa toolbar installed on the computer. I see the alexa ranking as a challenge to myself to want to constantly improve the ranking and thus constantly trying to generating traffic to my blog and to find new informations to share with my readers.
    5.    I blog because I want the world to know there is this peron out there call Ivan Ong.
Blogging is indeed the easiest and the fastest way to let people know you. That’s actually how I made a few IM friends through blogging also. Although till now not the whole world know who Ivan Ong is. At least if you go to Google and search for Ivan Ong,  I am ranked the No 1 or 2 out of all the Ivan Ong who has a website. haha…

hey Calvin, thanks for the comment.. your comments almost the same length as my blog post already. This is what i call a constructive comment.
i guess having so much traffic but no conversion at all makes my blog useless isnt it? hmmm i shall ponder over your comments.

From the start, traffic is still very important. Its for building awareness and exposure. Its just that after some time, you should then focus more on content building and conversion so as to not only build a long term stable traffic flow and also income for yourself.

Haha.. Gd to see that you’ve got your list of reasons to blog too! Well, all i can say is that your current blog is certainly a great improvement from the previous one! *applause* Blogging is certainly a great tool for us to get to know more ppl, share our knowledge and well, just have fun sharing our thoughts and learnings! So, do keep bloggin’!

hey Shaun… thanks for visting.. yeah i guess everyone started out as a noob like me.. though now i am still a noob..but i guess there’s definitely visible progress..
Haha.. Yes I like the last one.. How cool is it to own a piece of the Internet with your name eh? You shall be the most famous and successful Ivan Ong in the whole world.
Anyway just a word of advice, that is don’t be over obsessed over the alexa ranking. I understand at the start seeing your alexa ranking will certainly boost your morale and serve as a form of motivation. No doubt abt that. I was also there before.
But as time passes by, you should be more concentrated on providing the utmost value and increasing your conversions. Cos having a high alexa ranking does not neccessarily say much about your blog or earnings, as it may mean you spend tons of hours driving traffic. But we all know its impossible to sustain that over the long run.
So work towards your content and the traffic will come naturally. SEO helps a great deal too.
Nonetheless, congrats on your improving alexa ranking! I’m sure you will be able to surpass mine soon.
P.S. Ivan, do smth abt your ‘notify of follow up comments’ plugin. Firstly, its displayed right at the bottom. Hence, people do not know they are subscribed to it. And you should uncheck it by default. You can do so at the options for the plugin. Msg me if you’re unsure ya..
