One Week Of School And My Affiliate Earnings..

January 11, 2008 By: Ivan Ong Category: CPA Affilates, blogging, Internet Marketing, Affiliate Marketing 4 Comments →

Exploded! Were you expecting me to say it dropped drastically because i had school? Well, actually just a mini explosion. My affiliate earnings hit over $100/day! Hey, that’s actually means a lot to me. Next goal then i would have is to actually be netting over $100/day. Only then can i fulfill my first goal of achieving US$1k/mth in CPA commission.

(My commission for 9th Jan 2008)

Somehow or rather, i think having school actually helped me become more focused in my business which i suppose its because of the restricted time that i have managing between school, my girlfriend and of course my online business.

Tiring? Yes.. Tough? Yes.. Worth it? you bet! Happy? Definitely!

What i have to say is that whether you are earning money online or not is entirely up to you to decide. Its not rocket science. Definitely much easier to learn and pick up then studying for your school modules like Economics and all the chemical bonding and atoms and electrons. But it’s definitely much much tougher to implement it and stay focused to it. But once you have the mindset to discipline yourself and have crystal clear goals as to why you want to achieve your goals. You will get there eventually. I am slowly inching my way to my dreams. Still far from it but i’m sure i will get there if i keep inching forward rather than staying put or worse still give up.

Here’s what i do to discipline myself to be focused:

1) I have my goals to achieve right in my handphone. In this way i will get to remind myself of my goals every now and then since handphone is a must to bring it around in today’s society.

2) I have a timing to do things. For example, i would tell myself that i will bathe at 8pm, wash my laundry at 830pm, rest till 9pm and get started on the Internet by 9pm. In this way i feel i am able to be more focused because i know in my mind that 9pm i have to stop whatever i am doing and get down to my desk and start clicking away.

3) I never stop until i have accomplished what i want to do for the day. For example, i would want to group my campaign into more tightly grouped adgroups in Yahoo and i wont stop until i finish that. Even if its 4am in the morning.

4) I TRY to finish my school work first before doing my business. this way i feel i would be more motivated to finish my work fast. ( I’m still trying to get this right, i always end up working on the Internet before i finish my work)

Well, that’s about what i do to keep myself focused and motivated. Cheers!

Is Internet Marketing Choking You?

December 18, 2007 By: Ivan Ong Category: blogging, Motivation, Internet Marketing 3 Comments →

Well, its blogging time for me. Actually i don’t know what to blog about so i’ll just try to type out whatever that comes to my mind so this post might be a bit crappy and useful so don’t mind me. :)

There’s really so much to learn and do in Internet Marketing that its really choking me. You have to constantly come up with new offers in new niches and you have to test and track them to see if they are profitable. On top of that, you have to continue to learn and read up to improve your knowledge and skills on writing better ads, choosing a good domain, creating a good landing page, eliminate non-converting keywords etc etc etc etc.

That’s the game of the online business. If you think that Internet Marketing is the place for you to earn quick and big bucks then you have choosen the wrong business to go into. Maybe buying the lottery ticket will suit your style more.

Making money online is possible, provided that you put in the necessary effort for you to be able to earn money online. Money doesn’t fall from the sky, you have to go and get it by putting in the required effort.

No Pain, No Gain! i”m sure you understand this phrase well enough and this should summarise all that i have just said previously.

Are You Focused Enough?

December 09, 2007 By: Ivan Ong Category: CPA Affilates, blogging, Internet Marketing, Affiliate Marketing No Comments →

Well, this post is suppose to be like a wake up call for me. Hasn’t been really focused this few days. Seems like i have a lot of commitment which is taking up far too much of my time. I don’t have much time for me a day to do CPA. Felt really guilty about it. If there is only one reason why i didn’t succeed in the future, its because of me.

I heard all those people who are earning about US$10k a month that they are doing about 5 campaigns a day and i am not even doing one a day. Oh no.. :( sounds bad isn’t it?

Seems like i have to make a promise to myself here tonight on my blog at 5.11am GMT+8 that i have to start focusing on my CPA business and make sure it prosper. No matter wad, I will do up 1 campaign everyday. No matter how late it is, no matter how tiring i am, no matter how boring it is. I have to do it and its only one campaign, the pros are doing 5 a day! If i want to succeed faster i should be doing 2 times more then what they are doing isn’t it? hmmm… oh well.. have to set reasonable goals and try to achieve it first.

Tomorrow, i will be focusing on building the True Dating Site campaign. Hopefully it’ll turn out well as it is recommended by my affiliate manager. Till then… :)

Hot Tips Just For You

May 08, 2007 By: Ivan Ong Category: blogging No Comments →

If you want your website to have lots and lots of traffic, you need… links. Ha that doesn’t sound like a hot tip isn’t it?

I’m not talking about incoming links. Everyone remembers that they have to work their fingers to the bone to get those. I’m talking about outgoing links. If you simply reference someone else’s blog in your post and link to it, you won’t do your traffic size much good. You won’t do it any harm either though and you will help your site.

When you mention what’s happening on other sites, yes, you risk sending people away before they’ve hit an ad or affiliate link. But you also show that you’re part of a community and that you’re up to date with what’s happening in your field. It might cost you a few clicks, but you’ll help to build trust.

And when the owner of the site you’ve linked to sees your post, there’s a very good chance he’ll link back, replacing those lost ad clicks.

The other kind of link takes a bit more work. If you’ve seen a site that impresses you, instead of just linking to it, you could contact the person behind it and write about them. A few emailed questions would be enough to give you a good post or even two. When you tell them that their profile is up, what are the odds that they won’t put a link to it on their site?

There! Hot tips for you. Enjoy blogging!

I Blog Because I..

April 21, 2007 By: Ivan Ong Category: blogging 8 Comments →

Thanks Calvin for tagging me and so here are the reasons why i blog.

I blog because I……

     1.    I blog because I am into Internet Marketing.

This is seriously the main reason that made me start a blog. I suppose the first step to Internet Marketing is actually to start a blog to tell the world that “Hey! Look here! I am also in Internet Marketing”

I suppose this few months down the road i certainly have made progress to my blog and also the content of my blog. You can take a look at my first blog at http://thegame0506.blogspot.com ( please don’t laugh at me)

     2.    I blog because I can make like-minded friends.

9 Simple Tips to Effective Blogging

April 02, 2007 By: Ivan Ong Category: blogging No Comments →

Found this article online which i think is quite useful to those who just started out blogging! Eg: Me! ha will use these  9 points as a reference point to make sure my blog becomes attractive enough! hahax.. enjoy reading and hope it’ll be of some help to you too!

Plan to start blogging? Here are 9 tips to ensure you are on the right blogging track.

1. Focus your expertise

Always begin your blog with a theme or a focus. Although you can start one blog for all topics - both business and personal issues - it’s also best to separate your business from your personal blog particularly if the target audience is different. This helps you focus on the theme of your blog and enable you to blog easily without running off tangent!

2. Blog regularly

Commit time to blogging. Blogs are a little different from websites because blogs are expected to be updated more regularly than websites. Be sure to update your blog regularly. For example, I blog twice a week but I do blog extra if I have the time. However, if you worry you cannot blog regularly, try this time-saver tip of mine – set aside a day to draft 4 or 5 blog entries all at one go. Use them on days when you’re pressed for time or have writer’s block and cannot think of anything to blog about.

3. Show your personality
