My Journey To Become A Super Affiliate

Apparently Yahoo’s screwing around with all the Internet Marketer around now. They recently just changed their way of indexing and crawling their website and now they are taking years to approve ads. My ads are pending for a few days now and this has greatly affected my commissions this month.

Hopefully they get this cleared up soon and start approving everyone’s ads. I suppose now is the time for me to explore further into the Big G for traffic as i have not touched on Google at all ever since i got started with CPA.

The Big G is definitely is a tougher search engine to tackle but i suppose its only a matter of time before i move onto the Big G. Wanted to make sure i was earning at least 500/day before i go into Google but i guess its time now.

Time to dig up all my books on Adwords and start digesting them these few days.

4 weeks into school and i’m kinda lagging behind in my school work now.I hate studying! Rather use the time i have to focus on my internet business. I’m earning more than any fresh graduates now anyway. But getting a degree has been my mom’s wish and i have to fulfil it no matter what. So what to do, i have to study.. Boringggg..
I had my best day yesterday ever for the past 66 days since i started my internet business. ( I started my first campaign on the 25th November) I broke the $300 mark. Haven reach my goal of $333.33/day so that in a month i’ll gross my first 5 figure. But i’m reaching there soon. Slowly inching my way towards my goal. Here’s a screenshoot of my earnings yesterday.

Now what i have to do is to try to maintain it to at least $300/day first and then slowly try to reach to maintain $333.33/day. Guess when mini explosion part 4 comes, it’ll be $400/day. I have a feeling it’ll come soon. If i continue to work hard on my campaigns to optimise it and continue to do up more campaigns.

Refresh…. the page loads… 5 secs gone past… no earnings yet…

5mins later… you click refresh again… the page loads… another 5 secs gone… oh… a commission coming in $1.50…  You let out a smile…

You get so excited about your affiliate earnings.. you check your stats 50 times a day. Sometimes you get a lead, sometimes you don’t.

Does this situation or scenario sounds familiar to you? Well, i am sure it does when you just begin out with this CPA business. Because i was once like that, and i still am like that. However, this is such a wrong and noob way of doing business because the time you spend refreshing your stats could very well be used to do up another campaigns which might prove to be really profitable and earn you even more money!

Imagine how much time you have lost, you take 5 secs for one refresh and u refresh it for 50 times a day. That’s 6mins a day and 3 hours a month. Could you set up one more campaign per month with the time you have wasted? Of course you could. With experience, you could be even be doing 2 campaigns with 3 hours.

The thing about refreshing your campaigns does not make a difference to your earnings do you? So all you have to do actually is to look at your stats just ONCE a day and you are done! Yes just once a day.

Well, easier said then done. To be honest with you, i am still doing that every single day. Its has become a habit that i will naturally want to log onto my account and take a peep at my earnings. And it doesn’t stop there! When i am halfway studying or doing my tutorial work, i will click on the refresh button. What a waste of time. Looks like i have to try my best to kick this habit soon and spend more time on my campaigns.

If you have been reading my blog regularly, i had a mini explosion in my affiliate earnings just last Friday, you can actually view the blog post here.

After another week of school, this is the 2nd week of school, my earnings had yet another mini explosion. I had increased my earnings to over $200/day.

The reason why i was able to increase my earnings so quickly because of my affiliate manager. He’s probably the best manager i have seen so far. He gives immediate payout increase on request without looking at the quality of your traffic. He doesn’t mind earning lesser to give you an increase payout so that you can earn more. That’s what i call an Affiliate Manager.

Another reason why i was able to increase my earnings at such speed is probably because of my affiliate manager again. As we all know, there are so many campaigns in one network and more than half of them probably don’t convert at all and will cause you to lose money. So, one way of making sure that you don’t even need to test 10 offers to find 1 profitable one is to consult your affiliate manager and ask him what are the top few converting offers and since these offers are already working for others, why not you? Maintaining a good relationship with your manager really helps. If you read other supper affiliates blog, they will tell you maintaining a good relationship with your affiliate manager is a MUST.

This was preciously what i did and he recommended me an offer that was paying out $9.25 for a 5 field offer. My affiliate manager immediately increased my payout to $10 upon request. It was an industry that i have not come across. and so i reckon this industry is only available in the USA. I did some research on Wikipedia and read up on what that industry was all about.

Research is a MUST before approaching a new offer. When you research, you gain more knowledge about the industry and thus you can generate more keyword variations and better qualify the negative keywords so that you will not be wasting money on any irrevelant clicks.

Next, set up your landing page and do your keyword research and you’ll be ready to profit!

I have a few campaigns which my manager recommended which i will be doing up this weekend. Currently at $271.42/day. Hopefully, i can bring it up to $333.33/ day so that in 30 days (1month) i would have hit my first 5 figure income!

If i can do within just 2 months of into this industry, why can’t you? Think about it.

Affiliate Summit is here again! This time held in Las Vegas from 23-25 Feb 2008. Have you heard of Affiliate Summit? If you hasn’t, then watch the video below..

Amazing and exciting isn’t it? Too bad i’m residing in Singapore and am unable to fly there for the event. Besides, i have school to attend.

Oh well, but that has gotten be one of my goal in the Affiliate Marketing Career. Have already jotted it down in my goal list! I think this event is definitely a must go for all affiliate marketer, even if its for once. How nice if you could be talking to your affiliate manger face to face! How nice to get to see Amit and Zac Johnson or even John Chow face to face?! oh man i’m getting too excited about it.

To all affiliate marketer out there, if you haven been to Affiliate Summit before, make it your goal to be there one day. My goal is that i will definitely go for Affiliate Summit once i hit 5 figure income every month.

Paid Keyword Research Tool Vs Keyword Research Tool. I used to think about this question a lot. No doubt, paid keyword research tool is definitely better then free keyword research tool (duhz!). But how worth it is paying a subscription for a keyword research tool, that i don’t know.

Besides, paying money when you hasn’t even started earning money was a put off for me. So i decided that i will go without keyword subscription when i first started out on CPA. I didn’t realise how much money i was not earning!

Everything on the Internet begins with a keyword and keyword is the most important element in this CPA business. You need to advertise your ads on every darn keyword that is related to the campaign that you are promoting. Every keyword is like a lottery ticket. You just need a handful of those keyword to make you hundreds everyday. But you need to test thousands of keywords in order to find that few winning lottery ticket.

With free keyword research tool such as KeywordDiscovery and Wordtracker or even Google Keyword Research Tool ( you can find the link under tools of the trade), you can only get 100 results for every keyword that you type in. That is simply not enough exposure for your campaign to find the winning keyword. Yes, maybe you are lucky and find 5 keywords that are making you money. But there could be another 50 more keyword that is hidden somewhere that you do not have access to. Won’t you be throwing money away?

Recently i subscribed to a paid keyword research tool and they actually call themselves Wordze The King of Long Tail! . They are priced at US$45/month and for a limted time, they are now priced at $35/mth. About 20% off the actual price. And since i was already making some money from CPA, i decided to give it a try and subscribed to it.

Wordze actually has many feature but the main feature was that it allows you to find many many more keyword that was never possible using a free keyword research tool. I tried it on one campaign and i was shocked to see the results. From grossing only$30-$40 a day, my income shot to over $100/day.

Next, what i did was to let the campaign run for a few days and filter out the useless keyword and the keyword that did not have high conversion.

If you are currently using free keyword research tool, DO NOT use it anymore. It doesn’t hurt to spend US$35/mth to give you a return that is so much more.

Exploded! Were you expecting me to say it dropped drastically because i had school? Well, actually just a mini explosion. My affiliate earnings hit over $100/day! Hey, that’s actually means a lot to me. Next goal then i would have is to actually be netting over $100/day. Only then can i fulfill my first goal of achieving US$1k/mth in CPA commission.

Somehow or rather, i think having school actually helped me become more focused in my business which i suppose its because of the restricted time that i have managing between school, my girlfriend and of course my online business.

Tiring? Yes.. Tough? Yes.. Worth it? you bet! Happy? Definitely!

What i have to say is that whether you are earning money online or not is entirely up to you to decide. Its not rocket science. Definitely much easier to learn and pick up then studying for your school modules like Economics and all the chemical bonding and atoms and electrons. But it’s definitely much much tougher to implement it and stay focused to it. But once you have the mindset to discipline yourself and have crystal clear goals as to why you want to achieve your goals. You will get there eventually. I am slowly inching my way to my dreams. Still far from it but i’m sure i will get there if i keep inching forward rather than staying put or worse still give up.

Here’s what i do to discipline myself to be focused:

1) I have my goals to achieve right in my handphone. In this way i will get to remind myself of my goals every now and then since handphone is a must to bring it around in today’s society.

2) I have a timing to do things. For example, i would tell myself that i will bathe at 8pm, wash my laundry at 830pm, rest till 9pm and get started on the Internet by 9pm. In this way i feel i am able to be more focused because i know in my mind that 9pm i have to stop whatever i am doing and get down to my desk and start clicking away.

3) I never stop until i have accomplished what i want to do for the day. For example, i would want to group my campaign into more tightly grouped adgroups in Yahoo and i wont stop until i finish that. Even if its 4am in the morning.

4) I TRY to finish my school work first before doing my business. this way i feel i would be more motivated to finish my work fast. ( I’m still trying to get this right, i always end up working on the Internet before i finish my work)

Well, that’s about what i do to keep myself focused and motivated. Cheers!

Hasn’t been updating blog for a while because i was away to Taiwan for a holiday for a week and now i’m back to school already. ( Am currently a first year student in Nanyang Technological University in Singapore) Oh man, will have much lesser time for CPA. But i’ll try to fork out time to continue doing my campaigns and pushing my income to the next level.

By the way, Taiwan trip was great. Went for 5 days to Taipei with my girlfriend and a couple of friends. During those days when i am away and not having access to the Internet. I was still able to generate about US$300 in income on complete auto-pilot. Not trying to tell you how much i earn. But how good and lucrative this business actually is. Want to encourage everyone reading this to take up CPA as a business that can really give you a full time income from the comfort of your own home and eventually sack your boss and get away from the 9-5 job because i seriously hate it.

Firstly, wanna wish everyone Merry Christmas. Hope you guys had lots lots of fun.

I did, practically gave myself a long break from Internet Marketing for about a week. Sounds so not focused am i? oh well, even though i completely stopped working on the Internet. There was still income coming in from CPA. Its on complete auto-pilot. What sort of work/job can do that for you? None. Only your own business are you able to put it on auto-pilot to generate income for you 24/7. Even when you self declared a break.

Now that the holidays are over, its time to pick up my momentum again and start my engine working again. I still have my goals to meet. Look at your goals and continue to work towards it.

A few more days left before 2007 ends and 2008 arrives. i’ll see how i can optimise my earnings and make my last sprint before the month ends.
