Landing Page Load Time

November 07, 2008 By: Ivan Ong Category: google adwords, PPC No Comments →

I think most people already know this… That the time taken to load your landing page does affect your Google quality score. Google definitely do not want you to have a landing page that take years to load as this to me is not a good user experience…

you also do not want your visitors to wait too long for your landing page to load after they have click on your ads. Imagine they click on the cross button before the landing page could even load… You’ll be throwing money down Google’s toilet…

To counter this, Dave from PPCFool.com has come out with a script that can test your landing page load time so that you know exactly how fast your internet is loading.

Remember to aim for the lightning fast load time to improve your quality score as well as to save yourself some money from visitors crossing out because your landing page takes too long to load.

Check out the tool in PPCFool.com here… :)

Google Adwords Campaign Management

October 21, 2008 By: Ivan Ong Category: google adwords, PPC, Affiliate Marketing 1 Comment →

Imagine you have 5 campaigns and each campaigns has got 50 adgroup, 100 ads and 2500 keywords… How the hell do you even manage your account? If you were to manually go to each adgroup and check your bids and adjust it accordingly, you would take forever.. and in the end, nothing is done… You get frustrated and bored, you did not finish changing all the bids etc etc etc…

Don’t worry, i was once in that shoe… So i totally understand how you feel. Frustrated… Angry…  I made a frustration post a while ago questioning how the super affiliates manage their campaigns and campaign management is probably one of the main reason that separates them from the rest…

You can read my frustration post HERE.

Anyway, i went to find out more information on this and i found out a huge secret which super affiliates have already mention and i just overlooked it like that… Amit Mehta has mentioned it before in his blog. Steven Clayton has mentioned it in his Commission Blueprint course. They all say that the Adwords Editor tool is the most important tool in their PPC business and i finally understand the beauty of this tool…

They all use Adwords Editor to help them manage their campaigns and i finally understood what it means when i watched the view by Steven Clayton in his Commission Blueprint product…

Basically, what you do is to use the advance search feature in Adwords Editor to filter out all the results that you want. For example, you might want to search for keywords with position greater then 8 and increase the bids for them to bring it up to page 1 of the search reults.

So this is what you do.. I’ll use pictures to illustrate to you what i meant so that you can have a better idea. :)

1) Click on the advance search button on the top right hand corner of your Adwords Editor

adwords editor

2) Next, a pop up window will appear and you need to choose your setting.. For me, i chosen to filter out all my keywords that has ave position of more then 8…

editor adwords

Next, i will select all my keywords and click on Advance Bid Change.. This will allow me to change bidding for all these keywords at once…

google adwords editor

I will change increase my bids by 20% or however much you want to increase. You could even choose to increase it by a certain amount of money. Eg, increase bids by $0.25

There you have it.. All these only take 5 mins to implement if you are a seasonal Google adwords user.

Enjoy…

Direct Linking To Product Page On Google Adwords

September 20, 2008 By: Ivan Ong Category: google adwords, PPC 3 Comments →

I hasn’t been blogging for some time and i apologize for that. Reasoning being i am in the midst of my school term and work is seriously piling up plus i have to manage my campaigns well enough to make sure that i am on the right track.

To apologize for not blogging, ha i decided to share with you some secrets on how i always get GREAT on my Google Quality Score.

When you create your ad, write in both the destination url and display url the address of an authority site in that niche (make sure that site does not promote on adwords as well.

After that, you go into your adgroup and use the “Edit keyword settings” function to change the destination url of each keyword, and you can place your affiliate link there. There is a heck of a work to change it for each keyword, but is well worth it.

Now, your landing page will receive the QS of the greatest authority site in that niche, while your ads will direct your visitors straight to your affiliate links. No more hassle creating landing page and optimizing, you can basically burn through campaigns and find the most profitable ones right off the bat.

I found this strategy from Jonathan Van Clute, a very respectable Affiliate Marketer and here’s the video in which he explains how you can get OK to GREAT QS almost 99% of the time. So enjoy the video. This is the exact strategy I use as well to get that Great quality score almost ALL the time.

Revenue V.S Profit

August 13, 2008 By: Ivan Ong Category: google adwords, Affiliate Marketing No Comments →

As a business owner, which of this is the most important aspect of your business? I’m sure most people will agree with me that its definitely profit. If you were to earn $5,000 a month in sales but your ad spend is a whopping $4,000, then that’ll leave you with $1,000 profit. And if you were to generate $3,000 in sales and your ad spend is only $1,500, then you would have earned yourself $500 more profit.

Of course, if you were to generate a higher monthly revenue, people will look up to you and think you are damn cool, but in actual fact, you could be earning much lesser then the person who earns only $3,000 a month.

I happen to thought about this issue when i was looking at my Adwords campaigns and realise that i was losing money on one campaign but that particular campaigns has been generating revenue for me on a daily basis. Thus i was thinking if i should just scrapped that campaign and forgo the revenue. Then it dawned upon me how stupid i was if i were to keep the campaign and continue losing money daily.

So just wanted to share with you my thoughts about revenue vs profit and that as a businessman, profit should be your main objective, not your revenue. UNLESS, you are trying to generate that high revenue as proof for your next big product launch on milking Google Adwords for profit again, because even if you are losing money now, you will earned it all back when your launch is successful with that huge long Clickbank bars.

Google Adwords Editor - Your Next Best Friend

July 26, 2008 By: Ivan Ong Category: google adwords, PPC 1 Comment →

Are you using Google Editor for your Google Adwords Campaigns? Because if you aren’t, then you gotta slap yourself for not doing so. Because Google Editor will make setting up your Google Campaigns 10x faster than if you were to do it yourself via the Google Adwords interface.

Anyway, Adwords Editor is a free desktop application provided by Google for you to mange all your Adwords account offline. You can download the Adwords Editor here: http://www.google.com/intl/en/adwordseditor/

Today i will be talking about a powerful feature in Google Adwords Editor that is giving me the high CTR and that is the keyword groupers function. You can locate this function by going to the Tools icon at the top and select the  keyword grouper.

What this tool does is to help you filter your keyword list and separate your keywords into different adgroups according to what Google think is relevant. On top of that, Adwords Editor even helps you to create separate adgroups for you automatically at a click of your mouse. This function has helped me to get super high CTR by grouping keywords into targeted adgroups and writing targeted ads to the adgroup.

Some people have asked me how i manage to get my CTR at 7-10% so easily. This is the secret. :) Hope it helps!

By the way, if you have completely no idea what i was talking about, creator of LP Gen Jonathan Van Clute, has created a video on how to use the keyword grouper using Adwords Editor, so check it out at the link below. :)
