What’s Google Up To?

Google slap Google slap… This google slap has made hundreds of ppc affiliates shunned Google because they are now so afraid of Google that they avoid it like a pest.

This Google slap has affected me a lot in terms of my income level and to be honest, my income have dropped more then 80%. However, there are some valuable lessons that we definitely can picked up from this expensive yet necessary lesson.

  1. Shady affiliate sites does not last.. No doubt that you can create a silo sites full of relevant content in a quick time, slapped up a landing page and start driving traffic to your landing page and start making profits. But the thing is this sort of affiliate strategy will not last simply because its not in sync with Google ultimate aim of making the paid search results similar in quality to the organic search results. So, knowing that this is Google ultimate aim, the best strategy we can adopt for long term profits is definitely putting our vision in sync with Google and our business will be in safe hands..
  2. NEVER NEVER NEVER depend 100% on one source of traffic be it Google Adwords or Yahoo or media buys. Its always wise to diversify your traffic sources. I was too reliant on Adwords and that’s why my income suffered when the slap came suddenly. Its definitely good to have a range of traffic coming into your site on a regular basis. Be it social network, video sites, SEO, PPC and article marketing.. The point here is to spread out your traffic sources even out the income streams coming from these sources.
  3. Now that many people are out of Google, this also means that its much much less competitive in Google than 7 weeks ago before the slap came. This is HUGE HUGE potential in terms of affiliates who are still working on Google because with lesser competition means lower bid price and definitely higher profit margin.. So this is something that you should think about.
  4. Because of this Google slap, i am now looking into more modes of traffic sources including social network like Facebook, ramping things up on PPV traffic and also looking into media buys which i have never thought about before.
  5. I’m also diversifying my streams of income to offline businesses and not to rely solely on just online income streams. Its always good to have multiple streams of income coming into your bank account on a regular basis so that’s where i am working towards to.
