Heya Ivan,

So sorry about it! My last comment was addressed to you not "Desmond".
I got mixed up. Cos' before that, I was reading Desmond's blog.

Subconscious mind at work. Hahah. Hope you don't mind! Sorry again!

Hi Desmond,

What Calvin said is absolutely spot on. I just did a post about LOA recently.

http://selfhelpspot.com/blog/law-of-attraction/be-careful-of-your-thoughts/

Focus on positive things rather than negative things, and your mind will geared towards positive actions and outcome.

For eg: If you think of a negative outcome you do not want, your brain will process the negative thoughts 1st before trying to "Delete" it. So your subconscious mind will still always filled up with -ve thoughts which we supposedly wanted to get rid of!

Hi Desmond and Calvin,

Looks like this post of mine kinda become a discussion.

Calvin, i'm amazed by what you have said in your comments. you totally understand the conception and you could bring it across so well to others.

I think goal setting is the most important thing that anyone should do first and work out a plan that could bring you to your goals.

We should all by know realise that the path to success is indeed tough and tedious. But we should never let negative thoughts put us down and give in to the 'devil' within us. Know where you are heading to and work towards it! We know somehow we will eventually reach our goals!

Work hard! We are already on the right path and the final destination is just straight ahead. Just go through the process of walking the path and we'll eventually reach our goals!

To Our Success! :)

OooOoo... You just cleared up my misunderstanding of this law. Indeed, focusing on the positive thoughts will definitely bring about better results then focusing on the negative thoughts. Thanx Calvin.

Hey.. I think there are some misconceptions about the Law of Attraction. Firstly, it does not mean just by focusing your thoughts towards your desired end results would result in you achieving it.

The theory is simple. Your thoughts will lead your mind to take the desired actions to move you towards your dream outcome. Focus on positive results, and your mind will be focused on achieving that. And vice versa.

Everything happens for a reason. Lets say you did not get the promotion. It could mean you were meant for other greater things. Even if you did not get the promotion, the hard work that you put in would have strengthened you and made you a more effective person. This will apply to any scenario.

The one clear message that everyone should take home from the video is, one should always focus on the things you want, instead of things that you don't want. Thereafter, work towards that goal.

If you do not achieve that goal ultimately, take comfort that you tried instead of just wallowing in self pity. The key thing is the the actions that were taken as a result of applying the Law of Attraction is different. Its the ACTIONS that matters.

Being positive always has more advantages than being negative. Hence, there is no debate as to whether the theory is effective. Its really not abt judging the 'success rate' that will occur as a result of applying it. One should not judge the effectiveness of the theory based on the outcome. But rather judge it on the process of applying it.

Hope you guys get the picture. ;)

Ok let's say this guy really wanted the promotion. He thinks about it everyday and imagine himself getting promoted. He works really hard and is confident that he will fill in the missing Manager post. But instead, the boss hired a foreign talent to filled in the post.

Or let's say for example if you watched Singapore Idol. There was this lady that wanted to be a Singapore Idol so bad. She trained so hard and although she got kicked out during the 1st season, she came back again on the 2nd 1. She went for vocal classes etc and really believed she could do it. But she just did not had that talent...

I think that we all would be interested in the cases where you feel that it doesn't work. I on the other hand saw the movie (thanks Ivan) and didn't see a case where I felt that it wouldn't work.

I was really amazed at the video. Impressive theory. However, there are some cases which I felt it does not work. I'm still exploring into this sector and trying to solve the problems I've encountered.
Nevertheless, for millions to acknowledge its power, it must definitely be something life-changing.
