Adwords Newbie Mistake 1

Its very common to see mistakes that newbies make when they first join their first Google Adwords account. I have spotted so many of my friends that made the same old mistake that i am going to point it out to you now so that you can be more aware of it and not make the same newbie mistake.

1) Currency of your Google Adwords account.

You should always set this to the currency of the affiliate program that you are promoting. Do not put the currency of your own country as it will only complicate matters. For example, if you are promoting a Clickbank product and you made a sale of US$25. Congrats that you made your first sale! When you look over at your Google Adwords account for your adspend, you spend SGD$39. Wow… so is that a profit? Its quite hard to tell isn’t it? You’ll have to convert the currency to USD to tell whether you have made a profit or loss. Revenue= US$25 and cost= SGD$39. You have actually made a lost if you convert the currency.

So, my point here is to make sure that your Google adwords account currency is tracked to the currency of the affiliate program that you are promoting.

2) Reporting Time For Your Google Adwords Account

Another big major mistake that i see newbie make over and over again.. haha… When you create your first adwords account, there is a point where you have to select the time zone that your reporting should be in. You shuld always put the time zone to the same time zone as your affiliate company so that tracking would be easier for you.

For me i am using Clickbank and HydraNetwork, so the time zone for these 2 company are in the Pacific Time Zone (GMT -8). I definitely would not set it to Singapore time zone which is GMT+8. Imagine you made a sale at PST 9pm and by then your Google Adwords account would already be the next day when the clicks came and you made that sale. It would be very difficult to find out exactly how much you have earned and spend for the same day if you do not set your time zone to be the same.

These are the 2 major mistakes i see newbie affiliate marketers make over and over again. Hopefully this tip would help you in some way.
