The Power Of Split Testing Ads

We all know that split testing of ads is very important when it comes to PPC marketing. You have to continuously split test your ads so that you can constantly find a winner ad and strive for higher CTR. This not only allows you to get more clicks, it also helps in your Quality Score rating as CTR is one of the very important factor when it comes to Quality Score.

Google sees CTR as, “More people are clicking the ads, so it’s definitely relevant to what the searchers are looking for.  Alright, i’ll reward the advertiser with a higher ad position by giving you a higher Quality Score and lower CPC.”

Split testing of ads can be very troublesome when it comes to doing it everyday and imagine you have 100 ad groups in one campaign. It would be very tedious to be doing it every now and then. I personally use Adwords Editor to change my ads all at once so that i do not have to spend too much time working on it.

Though tedious, its is definitely essentials and i always change my top converting adgroup first because those are my money makers and i want to continually work on them.

Are you split testing your ads? You ought to!

What’s your strategy for testing your ads? Do you put up completely different ads against each other? Or tweak words?

i usually only tweak one word at a time or one thing at a time. But i would first split test the Headline first before i move on to the subheadline and eventually move on to test the domain name like http://www.domain.com/abc or domain.com/abc and domain.com
