I Have Shifted To Beyond Hosting VPS

Apparently i was doing too much volume on my server from CPVLab which was hosting on a shared hosting account. All of a sudden, all my campaigns redirect were not working and it was redirecting to a empty page.

All my campaigns were down and i only manage to realized this problem 5 hours later when i wake up from my nightmare. I notice the crazy click differences in my PPV network and my CPA network.

Something like 200 clicks on PPV and only 50 clicks on my CPA network. To my horror, i realized that CPVLab has failed me. I pause all my campaigns, contacted the support and waited for them to reply as it was night time in US and day time from where i am.

Luckily i did not suffer a huge loss from that 5 hours of downtime. I still manage to make a profit of US$19? haha pretty crappy and i probably lost a few hundred of potential profits that i could have made.

Robert replied me like 12 hours later when it was a business day in the US and he quickly found that the problem was due to my shared hosting security blocking my redirect from functioning properly. It has got something to do with the mod_security or something.

Robert then recommended Beyond Hosting to me so that the load time will be reduced to its minimum and CPVLab will work at its maximum..

The hosting server cost $59/month which is about 4 times more expensive than what i was previously using. However, i reckon that if i were to continue using shared hosting and my server went down again, its probably not gonna be worth it since i’m using CPVLab for all my tracking now.

So i went to sign up and the sales rep, also one of the co-founder Tyler, quickly set me up on everything, reinstalled CPVLab for me, uploaded my backup, and i’m good to go, all in under 1 hour. The support is superb and you feel like you get personal attention from them.

If you are using a shared hosting for your tracking software, be it prosper 202 or CPVLab or PPV Dominator or anything else, i would recommend you to switch over to a VPS and Beyond Hosting seems like a wise choice. :)

$59/month is a bit too expensive.. Similar specifications are going for much less at Linode/SliceHost/ServInt, all are excellent VPS hosting companies. For me, if I am going to spend $59/month, I will get Amazon EC2 Reserved Instance, the RAM is much more than a VPS, plus it’s with Amazon, I won’t expect much downtime there.

hmmm but i’m paying for the support and i think the support is really good… I do not know much about the technical part of this though…

But i feel its a decent price to pay for a faster server that’ll make u more $.. :)

I’ve been on my VPS for about two years and I couldn’t be happier with the decision to switch over from shared hosting.

Seems like $59 is a small price to pay if you’re rolling through $300K of ad spend.
