Some Facts About Google Page Rank
I believed yesterday Google just updated their Page Rank and there were some webpages where their page rank went up and some went down. Feeling curious about how Google actually ranked webpages, i researched on the internet and I found out some interesting facts about Google Page Rank.
1) What We See Is Not Always What We Get.
Just because we see a PR7 doesnt’t mean that the webpage has a true value of PR7 at that point of time. The truth is that Google only update the Google Toolbar once every 3 months and Google always update the PR frequently and is reflected in the Search Engine Result Page. (SERP) when all the searches are made. Hence, we will never know the true PR of the webpage at that point in time.
2. Page Rank is not the same throughout.
Page Rank only applies to a certain page and not throughout the whole domain name. It is not uncommon to see that a internal page has a higher PR then the homepage. The reason is just that there are more people linking to that internal page.
3. Page Rank can be Fake.
There are of course website that uses fake PR techniques to display their page PR to 10. This is not recommended and the PR will only be temporary.
4. What is the most accurate prediction tool for Page Rank?
well, the answer is none. Google keeps updating their algorithm and no external tools can calculate their PR without knowing the maths. In addition, seeing the predicted PR is discouraging most of the time.You might as well use this time to create more link baits and link revelance to your webpage.
5. No traffic But High Page Rank
Most people sees pagerank as the only factor for page rankings. This is not true, Google uses other factors as well to calculate the rankings, pagerank is one of them. The most important factor is content relevancy. Google would not want to show people a high PR site with low relevancy. It is common to have a PR 5 page with no search engine traffic.
6. Get Rich with High Page Rank.
Most Webmasters profit from selling their high PR text links for a good sum of money. A PR 7 site can earn a few hundred dollars per month just by selling text links.Â

Hey Calvin,
Yeah, i didn’t know Google Page Rank was updated every 3 months before my research.
Now that i know, the next one will be in July. ha yeah PR4 for me as well! Hopefully.. 
Hey I actually realized something interesting. The page rank for http://www.calvinwoon.com is 2 while that of http://calvinwoon.com is 3. So my PR did went up!
haha but it sounds ridiculous lehz. wonder if its only my browser that has this error. Since you started your research, shall task you to go find out if what I detailed is possible. Haha!
From what I know, Google will treat ivan-ong.com and http://www.ivan-ong.com as a “different” domain. Hence this accounts for Calvin’s difference in PR.
If you checked it out, my site :selfhelpspot.com PR is zero while with the www is PR2.
Hence when you are promoting your site through links exchange, SEO, comments or whatever so, try to “promote” your domain in a constant format.
